Re-Entry Services

Nevelle Thompson (left), a senior case manager for the Maryland Re-Entry Partnership, poses with one of the proud graduates of the Catholic Charities program.
The Maryland Re-Entry Partnership (REP) is a voluntary ex-offender program that serves men leaving Maryland State prisons and returning to neighborhoods in Baltimore City. REP provides: intensive community-based case management for one year, which connects ex-offenders with the necessary support services for a positive transition to their communities.
REP provides the following services to successfully re-enter the community, reduce recidivism, and enhance public safety:
- pre- and post-release programming
- housing assistance
- substance abuse treatment
- mental health counseling
- vocational/occupational training
- educational services
REP was designed as a community-justice partnership in which public agencies and community-based organizations work together to provide continuous case management as prisoners’ transition into the community. The men in the REP program commit to a one-year voluntary relationship that supports their successful re-entry into society.
Our goals are to enhance public safety by reducing recidivism, to increase offender accountability and community reparation, and to enable each client to become a self-sufficient, fully participating member of society.
The REP model is to treat each client in a highly individualized manner and to tailor the services to his particular assessed needs. Our graduates; employed, independent, and often reunited with their families, tell us that this is a model that works.
The Maryland Re-Entry Partnership is located in the Our Daily Bread Employment Center. Click here for directions to ODBEC.
