Esperanza Center

Welcome!
For more than forty-five years, the Esperanza Center (formerly the Hispanic Apostolate) has provided a wide range of services to new immigrants to the Baltimore Metropolitan Area at our location in Fells Point. Through short-term social services, referrals to appropriate resources, employment counseling, and English as a second language classes our bilingual staff works with Hispanic and other immigrants to help them acclimate to their new home.
With help from four local hospitals, the Esperanza Center has provided primary and well care to 2,079 people this year.
Since 1994 we have been providing Immigration Legal Services. All of our legal work is performed by licensed attorneys and Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) Accredited Representatives who are specifically trained to practice immigration law.
We also provide access to healthcare for immigrants by partnering with a host of healthcare providers including four local hospitals. In 2008, we opened the entire second floor of our Fells Point building to this healthcare initiative, providing space for many providers to offer preventive and primary healthcare.
“With the help of the Esperanza Center, my English has improved greatly and I am no longer nervous about communicating with people in Baltimore. My pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary and reading are vastly better than when I came here in August. All of these things I have obtained thanks to the help of the Esperanza Center.” - José Luis Rivera
